BENA coffee comes from our family farmers in the Sidamo region in Ethiopia. Because of the concept of direct trade, we do not use any intermediaries. As a result, the farmer receives a fair price for his coffee.

Let us introduce ourselves! We are Bena Ethiopian Coffee. Our family has been working in the coffee business in Ethiopia (Region Sidamo) for over 40 years and has had an export license to export coffee since 2021. As a result, we started a sister company in the Netherlands to bring the coffee to the European market. Our family owns several coffee fields, washing stations and drying beds.
Our goal is to market our coffee brand, where we offer high-quality micro lot coffee, specialty coffee and blends to roasters, SMB companies and individuals. Because our family business works together with various family farmers, we can offer high-quality coffee at an affordable price. This has to do with the fact that we trade directly with our family farmers. They take care of the transport to the port of Djibouti and we arrange the import of the beans to the Netherlands. Thanks to our family business, we guarantee that the entire chain receives a fair price for its coffee.

Coffee is a second-generation company for Bena Coffee Export. We have years of experience in processing and supplying coffee to exporters. After years of working in the coffee world, Abel Tsegaye came up with the idea to export coffee through a new export company called Bena Coffee Export. Our export story started on May 12, 2021, in the capital of Ethiopia, but our history in coffee goes back to our first generation in the 1980s.

Mission and Vision
Bena Ethiopian Coffee wants to introduce companies and individuals to coffee made from 100% arabica coffee beans from Ethiopia. This way, we want to bring back the authentic coffee experience of 100% arabica Ethiopian coffee beans. In addition, we bring a bit of authenticity and a memorable coffee experience to people at home and in the workplace. At the same time, we want to support farmers and the local community.
Bena Ethiopian Coffee goes back to the origins of coffee. That is why we supply high-quality Ethiopian coffee beans to individuals and companies, whereby everyone in the chain receives a fair price. The coffee farmers are our main focus.
